1. Special reservoirs (vessels) – gas-holders – are used for liquefied gas supply of country houses. Gas-holders are located at a given distance from buildings and constructions, septic tanks and water-wells. Mini pipeline is laid from a gas-holder to your boiler house from where hot water and heating is than distributed to the whole house.
The system includes the following elements: a gas-holder of 5-9 m3 capacity, a double-stage reduction block, a ground protection system, a concrete plate for a gas-holder fixation by means of a stainless steel cord, a plastic pipeline and an inlet in a basement (metal-plastic connector).
Special rubber cover is laid between concrete plate and a gas-holder surface meant to prevent a gas-holder epoxy cover damage. Gas-holder is filled from a gas-carrying truck  through special discharge hose. Evaporating capacity of a gas-holder is insufficient for gas supply of powerful (200 kW and more) boiler-houses. In this case use of evaporating plants is required. Both electric and liquid evaporators of any required capacity may be delivered.
This is description of a simplest system of independent gas supply of your object.

2. Depending on boiler house power the systems of independent gas supply may be equipped by the following types of gas-holders:

Note:

  • Costs are quoted in thousand rubles
  • Earthworks shall be carried out by the customer and are not included in the calculation.

*      Prices refer to independent gas supply of private houses
**    The price of a reservoir includes safety fittings and loading valves
***  Reduction unit consists of two stages. Each stage is equipped in compliance with Rostechnadzor requirements with a safety lock up valve  (SAV) and safety bleeding valve (SBV).
All models of reservoirs feature the following:

  • increased neck – in compliance with Russian climatic conditions.
  • dismountable flange – allows of reservoir reexamination without digging out.

It is possible to combine reservoirs of different capacities, evaporators and other equipment according to the Customer’s request.

5. Independent gas supply. Frequently asked questions

1.  What does a country house independent gas supply system consist of?
- the system includes the following elements: reservoir for an underground LPG storage with an increased neck, two reducers, anode-cathode protection system, a concrete plate of special design, a stainless steel core , a plastic gas-pipeline and a basement inlet.

2. What is Liquefied Hydrocarbon Gas?
- Liquefied Hydrocarbon Gas or Liquefied Petrol Gas (LPG) -propane-butane mixture - is a universal synthetic gas. The mixture is composed of butane and propane.

3. Why are reservoirs for LPG storage are located underground?
- Reservoirs are located underground below freezing point (1,5 m) in order to prevent butane phase freezing and gas evaporation.

4. What is Independent Gas Supply system efficiency?
- The system efficiency is a quantity in kilograms of LPG mixture evaporated from gas surface and transported to a user (a  boiler). The efficiency depends on the ambient temperature of a reservoir, LPG volume in a reservoir, reservoir pressure and evaporating surface.

5. What  advantage of horizontal reservoirs over vertical ones?
- horizontal reservoir has nearly threefold larger evaporation surface than vertical reservoirs, therefore at other equal conditions the efficiency of horizontal reservoirs is higher than that of vertical ones.

6. What is the advantage of an increased neck?
- an increased  neck of a reservoir allows vessel location below freezing point (in Moscow region - 1, 5 m deep). Therefore the efficiency of this system ensures stable operation of boiling equipment even at – 40 ˚ C of ambient air.

7. How long have Independent Gas Supply Systems been used in Russia?
- The very first systems of independent gas supply were used in the Soviet Union in the 60s to supply with gas  the dwelling houses in North and Far East Region where gas-main pipelines were not available.

8. What are the requirements to the location of an Independent Gas Supply system?
- The distance from the system to the surrounding objects shall be as follows: 10 m from dwelling houses, 2 m  from fence, 5 m from septic, 15 m from  water well.

9. What are gas evaporators are used for?
- Gas evaporators are used to increase system efficiency under conditions when natural LPG evaporation is not sufficient for boiler equipment operation. Evaporators may be electric, liquid and with heating up option.

10. What are reducers are used for?
- LPG pressure at underground vessels is much higher than it is required for boiler equipment operation. Reducers are used to reduce this pressure.

11. What are lock-up valves used for?
- To prevent high pressure gas supply into boiler equipment in case of a reducer diaphragm failure.

12. What is electrochemical protection of reservoir used for?
- To back off stray currents in surrounding soil and to prevent reservoir excitation.

13. What is a concrete plate of special design is used for?
- The concrete plate is used to fix a reservoir and to prevents it from floatation at  underground water force. Plate’s design ensures the operation in acid soil of Moscow region during 50 years without any distractions.

14. Why is underground reservoir is strewed with sand?
- Sand is the best heat conductor from ground to a reservoir. Besides in heaving soils sand is used as “air bag” and smoothes ground deformation impact to reservoir  walls.

15. What is the level of IGS system safety?
- The system of Independent Gas Supply is absolutely safe. Requirements to pressure reservoirs operation in the Russian Federation is much more strict than in European countries.

16. What reservoir size is of the greatest demand?
- The most popular are the reservoirs of 4850 l. capacity as they ensure stable operation of a 50 kW boiler.

17. How often reservoir must a reservoir be refilled?
- It depends on boiler equipment power.

18. How can we calculate propane-butane mixture consumption by boiler equipment?
- Value of maximum gas consumption for air heating from – 28 C to + 22 C shall be specified in a boiler’s burner passport.

19. How often IGS system shell be maintained?
- Visual inspection once per month will be enough.

20. How long IGS system installation takes?
- Installation of a single boiler system takes about two days.

21. What documents are required to register IGS system at Rostechnadzor.
- Ownership Certificate of  for a land lot, where IGS system will be located, application from a land owner, personal liability insurance police, gas supply project, pressure vessel’s certificate, contract with operating organization.
